Damian Vergulescu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cezar Cernescu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Gheorghe Cunea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Damian Vergulescu. Gheorghe Cunea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Aurel Pandrea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Damian Vergulescu came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Steaua Bucuresti's Gheorghe Cunea. But to his dismay, Gheorghe Cunea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 13-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezar Cernescu in the 73rd minute of play forced Cirlanesti's goalkeeper Damian Vergulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 minutes of play, Steaua Bucuresti's Nae Matei made it 17-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Damian Vergulescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 93rd minute, Gheorghe Cunea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steaua Bucuresti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 18-0.
