Gigi Șerbulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toader Geantă, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. Gigi Șerbulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Barbosu in the 4th minute of play. After 12 minutes, Gigi Nae made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. FC UNIREA's Gigi Șerbulescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the game, Gigi Nae recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gigi Șerbulescu. Gigi Nae showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. FC UNIREA's Gigi Șerbulescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save FC UNIREA from getting a goal against them. In the 27th minute, Eliodor Ţopescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gigi Nae who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Gigi Șerbulescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. F.C Rapid Bucuresti's Panait Iorgu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicu Hălmăgeanu in the 34th minute of play. Gigi Șerbulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Hârșu in the 35th minute of play. Panait Iorgu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Moisil in the 38th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Gigi Nae took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Gigi Șerbulescu to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Toader Geantă managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C Rapid Bucuresti's supporters rose to their feet, but Toader Geantă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gigi Șerbulescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gigi Nae to strike the kick off in the second half. Gigi Șerbulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Barbosu in the 51st minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Gabriel Barbosu notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of FC UNIREA's Gigi Șerbulescu. Gigi Șerbulescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Iriza in the 59th minute of play forced F.C Rapid Bucuresti's goalkeeper Panait Iorgu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gigi Nae blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gigi Șerbulescu having to make a save. In the 64th minute of the match, Nicu Hălmăgeanu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Panait Iorgu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. F.C Rapid Bucuresti's Cezar Săliştean was substituted for Gigi Nae. 68 minutes into the match, Gabriel Barbosu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gigi Șerbulescu. FC UNIREA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gabriel Barbosu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Gabriel Barbosu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cezar Săliştean struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Gigi Șerbulescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C Rapid Bucuresti. Gigi Șerbulescu came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C Rapid Bucuresti's Gabriel Barbosu. But to his dismay, Gabriel Barbosu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. In the 80th minute, Gabriel Barbosu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gigi Șerbulescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sever Enachescu in the 84th minute of play forced FC UNIREA's goalkeeper Gigi Șerbulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 minutes of play, F.C Rapid Bucuresti's Cezar Săliştean made it 10-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gigi Șerbulescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Nicu Hălmăgeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 91st match minute, FC UNIREA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicu Hălmăgeanu to maneuver through the defense. FC UNIREA's Gigi Șerbulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sever Enachescu in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th match minute, FC UNIREA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliodor Ţopescu to maneuver through the defense. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. F.C Rapid Bucuresti had played much better football throughout.
