After having played for 11 minutes, Gavril Frânculescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Bucharest's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavril Frânculescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 38 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when FC UNIREA's Cătălin Iriza fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Nicu Hălmăgeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC UNIREA's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicu Hălmăgeanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marius Popa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gigi Șerbulescu made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Gavril Frânculescu sent off a good shot on target. 45 minutes into the match, Cătălin Iriza notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Real Bucharest's Marius Popa. Marius Popa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cătălin Iriza in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marius Popa saved Real Bucharest from getting behind. After 56 played minutes FC UNIREA got a freekick which was hit by Eliodor Ţopescu. Nicu Hălmăgeanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vasile Ciuvică struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Gigi Șerbulescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Bucharest. In the 63rd minute of the match Sorin Daria sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gigi Șerbulescu skillfully saved the ball. Gigi Șerbulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marin Nițoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA's goal looked a bit too open when Gavril Frânculescu came free, but Gigi Șerbulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cătălin Iriza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marius Popa was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Cătălin Iriza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Popa having to interfere. Real Bucharest's Marius Popa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Real Bucharest from getting a goal against them. Marius Popa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cătălin Iriza's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Gigi Șerbulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gavril Frânculescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. FC UNIREA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
