After a defensive mix-up in F.C Rapid Bucuresti's zone, Eugen Tudoran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliodor Macavei came out of the goal and Eugen Tudoran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 13 minutes into the game, Radu Arsene was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C Rapid Bucuresti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ciughes the free kick. Radu Arsene hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Ionică Feteanu didn't quite understand what happened when in the 15 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. With his leg Eliodor Macavei managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Ciughes's Eugen Tudoran fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 30 minutes into the game, when Narcis Zota put in a rough tackle. Eliodor Macavei had in the 31stth minute some difficulties stopping Eugen Tudoran's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 32 minutes into the match, F.C Rapid Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Tudoran came free, but Eliodor Macavei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th match minute, Ciughes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugen Tudoran to maneuver through the defense. Luca Hârșu hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Eugen Tudoran received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eliodor Macavei came out and tried to block the shot, but Eugen Tudoran slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Toader Geantă stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Toader Geantă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gabriel Barbosu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugen Tudoran struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Eliodor Macavei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciughes. Petru Voineag made in the 63rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ciughes's Martin Dragoș. After 69 played minutes F.C Rapid Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Nicu Ilinca. A collision led to F.C Rapid Bucuresti getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Nicu Ilinca hit a great ball. In the 73rdth minute of the game Eugen Tudoran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C Rapid Bucuresti's Eliodor Macavei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Ciughes's goalkeeper Ilie Domnescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriel Barbosu. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ciughes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for F.C Rapid Bucuresti. Nicu Ilinca stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ilie Domnescu. 2-1. The supporters of Ciughes booed when F.C Rapid Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sever Enachescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 98th minute Eugen Tudoran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliodor Macavei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eugen Tudoran in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliodor Macavei prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
