Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Sabin Inculeț made the kick off which started today's match. Petre Purcărete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cătălin Iriza in the 10th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cătălin Iriza in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petre Purcărete saved TNL Sector 3 from getting behind. Gigi Șerbulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabin Inculeț in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, TNL Sector 3's goal looked a bit too open when Nicu Hălmăgeanu came free, but Petre Purcărete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sabin Inculeț received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Gigi Șerbulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Costică Ivănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gigi Șerbulescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 20 minutes, Marcel Moisil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC UNIREA and the TNL Sector 3 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th match minute, FC UNIREA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Moisil to maneuver through the defense. Sabin Inculeț's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gigi Șerbulescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After 29 played minutes TNL Sector 3 got a freekick which was hit by Sabin Inculeț. Cătălin Iriza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petre Purcărete having to interfere. The supporters of FC UNIREA booed when TNL Sector 3 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niculae Radu didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sabin Inculeț couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute Nicu Hălmăgeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petre Purcărete saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costică Ivănescus short, quick shot in the 48thth minute got Gigi Șerbulescu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cătălin Iriza was the one to do the kick off. Nicu Hălmăgeanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Petre Purcărete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cătălin Iriza in the 61st minute of play. Sabin Inculeț received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Gigi Șerbulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costică Ivănescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Cătălin Iriza struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Petre Purcărete didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC UNIREA.
