The Capsa CSM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mircea Avădanei should have stopped the shot. Mircea Avădanei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristinel Ponor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, Girleasa CSM's Cristinel Ponor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mircea Avădanei narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristinel Ponor in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mircea Avădanei saved Capsa CSM from getting behind. In the 28th minute, Cristinel Ponor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 30 played minutes Girleasa CSM got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Crăcană. After a defensive mix-up in Capsa CSM's zone, Iurie Căliman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mircea Avădanei came out of the goal and Iurie Căliman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Mugurel Crăcană made a precise shot to the right of Mircea Avădanei. Capsa CSM's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Cristinel Ponor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Mircea Avădanei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Capsa CSM's goal looked a bit too open when Cristinel Ponor came free, but Mircea Avădanei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Călin Gavra struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Andrei Roman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capsa CSM.
