The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugen Ciolacu got free with Gigel Pârvan in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gigel Pârvan was a little too slow when Pompiliu Spiridon got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 1-0. Eugen Ciolacu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Gigel Pârvan made a huge save. After 24 minutes of play, Ungureni CF's Dinu Gherdan made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dorin Mercea was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Ungureni CF's Dinu Gherdan in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Poli Iasi's goalie prevented a goal. 40 minutes into the game, Eugen Ciolacu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Gigel Pârvan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Mădălin Măgureanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ungureni CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Mădălin Măgureanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dorin Mercea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mădălin Măgureanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tiberiu Negură hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. After having played for 51 minutes, Mădălin Măgureanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ungureni CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mădălin Măgureanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pompiliu Spiridon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mădălin Măgureanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorin Mercea having to interfere. Gigel Pârvan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pompiliu Spiridon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Ungureni CF's Nichifor Vornicu got a free kick in the 68th minute. Tiberiu Negură was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 69th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gigel Pârvan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pompiliu Spiridon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorin Mercea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gigel Pârvan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugen Ciolacu in the 93rd minute of play. Poli Iasi were awarded a corner in the 98th minute after Ungureni CF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tiberiu Negură took the corner. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ungureni CF walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
