Petrică Daria ran back to his position shaking his head. 14 minutes into the match, The Star of Football's goal looked a bit too open when Ionel Udurbac came free, but Albert Lucănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horea Măcrinici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernest Lesnea in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC BAYERN MUNCHEN's goalkeeper Horea Măcrinici, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ernest Lesnea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horea Măcrinici having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Petrică Ciorăscu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC BAYERN MUNCHEN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Star of Football the free kick. 25 minutes in the game, Ionel Udurbac fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Albert Lucănescu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionel Udurbac in the 28th minute of play forced The Star of Football's goalkeeper Albert Lucănescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horea Măcrinici showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernest Lesnea, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. If Ionel Udurbac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horea Măcrinici dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1.

When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Codruț Răchitan took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Horea Măcrinici to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of The Star of Football booed when FC BAYERN MUNCHEN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantin Traian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horea Măcrinici made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Nichifor Chinezu sent off a good shot on target. Horea Măcrinici didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Star of Football. When Nae Ţintă fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC BAYERN MUNCHEN's protests and gave Nae Ţintă a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Nae Ţintă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
