FC National's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maxim Bornescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the game, Marian Blaga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of George Stejaru. Marian Blaga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 40th minute of the match, Albert Pantea tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but George Stejaru saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Maxim Bornescu struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Dorel Gheorghiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC National. The crowd rose to their feet as Marian Blaga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving George Stejaru. That made the score 4-0 in the 45 minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marian Blaga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
