Spectators: 7395 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1795, VIP seats: 100) Albert Lucănescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucian Râznicu in the 2nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Nichifor Chinezu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eugen Darabonț quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 10 played minutes GAYA FC got a freekick which was hit by David Bunescu. Sebastian Pintilie might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albert Lucănescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Pintilie ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Sebastian Pintilie managed to get in a good position for a shot. GAYA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Pintilie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albert Lucănescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to GAYA FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Aurel Mihai hit a great ball. Eugen Darabonț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest Lesnea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucian Râznicu struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Albert Lucănescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GAYA FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leontin Corbu during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of GAYA FC booed when The Star of Football was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leontin Corbu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernest Lesnea got in the 29th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Eugen Darabonț handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After a rather tough play, The Star of Football's Nichifor Chinezu got a free kick in the 30th minute. After having played for 35 minutes, Codruț Răchitan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Star of Football's supporters crossed their fingers, but Codruț Răchitan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lucian Râznicu succeeded in the game's 37th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. If Codruț Răchitan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastian Pintilie made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, The Star of Football's Nichifor Chinezu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eugen Darabonț narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nichifor Chinezu hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After 55 played minutes GAYA FC got a freekick which was hit by Eugen Andronescu. If Codruț Răchitan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lucian Râznicu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Silviu Gâfu came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the GAYA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silviu Gâfu couldn't finish the play. GAYA FC's Eugen Darabonț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichifor Chinezu in the 72nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Pintilie in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albert Lucănescu saved The Star of Football from getting behind. In the 83rd match minute, The Star of Football was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marius Tutuianu to maneuver through the defense. After 86 played minutes GAYA FC got a freekick which was hit by Aurel Mihai. Petruț Hidiș hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
