The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Florin Ecobescu made a kick off. Virgil Apostu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florin Ecobescu in the 52nd minute of play. If Moise Bâru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Academia M.Balan booed when F.C.Progresul Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isac Pavalescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Remus Trăistaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th match minute, F.C.Progresul Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Vâlcu to maneuver through the defense. Academia M.Balan's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
