Horea Corvin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciprian Zăvoianu having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Cotofene's Gică Grămescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Costin Hârciog narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Costin Hârciog showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gică Grămescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Bulzan in the 17th minute of play forced Chisinau CC's goalkeeper Costin Hârciog to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chisinau CC's Albert Orășan got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Felix Rizescu hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albert Orășan to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Robert Tăgorean was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chisinau CC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cotofene the free kick. Cotofene's Gică Grămescu got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Cotofene's Sergiu Isaia got a free kick in the 56th minute. Costin Hârciog made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Gică Grămescu sent off a good shot on target. Eric Bulzan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gică Grămescu made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 66thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Costin Hârciog would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Costin Hârciog made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Gică Grămescu sent off a good shot on target. Gică Grămescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Costin Hârciog read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Gică Grămescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costin Hârciog having to interfere. In the 78th minute of the match, Eric Bulzan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Costin Hârciog was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Gică Grămescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Chisinau CC's zone, Eric Bulzan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Costin Hârciog came out of the goal and Eric Bulzan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute Eric Bulzan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costin Hârciog saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gică Grămescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costin Hârciog having to interfere. Gică Grămescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Costin Hârciog skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the final whistle sounded Cotofene left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Chisinau CC.
