Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Podenii's Niccolo Ciobica started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niccolo Ciobica in the 3rd minute of play forced Cotofene's goalkeeper Ciprian Zăvoianu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Cotofene's Eric Bulzan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ion Gogu. Ion Gogu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After 8 minutes of play, Podenii's Niccolo Ciobica made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ciprian Zăvoianu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 12th minute, Constantin Surdilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 16 minutes on the clock, Constantin Surdilă commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 16 minutes into the game, one of Cotofene:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Podenii. Ovidiu Dragalina stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ciprian Zăvoianu. 1-2. Ciprian Zăvoianu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niccolo Ciobica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Niccolo Ciobica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciprian Zăvoianu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cotofene's zone, Gigi Barbăneagră stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciprian Zăvoianu came out of the goal and Gigi Barbăneagră tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ion Gogu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gică Grămescu in the 35th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Cotofene's Felix Rizescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ion Gogu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gigi Barbăneagră scored 1-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ciprian Zăvoianu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gigi Barbăneagră sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Andrei Grozuță came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Podenii fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrei Grozuță couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezar Zdrăilă in the 47th minute of play forced Podenii's goalkeeper Ion Gogu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gică Grămescu was the one to do the kick off. Ion Gogu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gică Grămescu went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Eric Bulzan kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Gigi Barbăneagră managed to get in a good position for a shot. Podenii's supporters rose to their feet, but Gigi Barbăneagră was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciprian Zăvoianu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teodor Ungur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrei Grozuță struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Ciprian Zăvoianu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Podenii. Andrei Grozuță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gigi Barbăneagră recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Niccolo Ciobica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th match minute, Cotofene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cezar Zdrăilă to maneuver through the defense. After 93 played minutes Podenii got a freekick which was hit by Andrei Grozuță. If Gică Grămescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
