Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ernest Cioculescu got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, FCDB's Mircea Huidu got a free kick in the 5th minute. Ernest Cioculescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ernest Cioculescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Remus Trăistaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, F.C.Progresul Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Ernest Cioculescu came free, but Remus Trăistaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Ernest Cudalb got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 16th match minute, F.C.Progresul Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florin Ecobescu to maneuver through the defense. Florin Ecobescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelian Nicea having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest Cioculescu in the 21st minute of play forced F.C.Progresul Timisoara's goalkeeper Remus Trăistaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Liviu Mercescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remus Trăistaru having to interfere. Florin Ecobescu struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Aurelian Nicea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C.Progresul Timisoara. If Florin Ecobescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ernest Cioculescu, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 37 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Remus Trăistaru was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florin Ecobescu in the 40th minute of play forced FCDB's goalkeeper Aurelian Nicea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41stth minute of the game Ernest Cioculescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C.Progresul Timisoara's Remus Trăistaru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Ernest Cioculescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liviu Mercescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Florin Ecobescu made the kick off in the second half. FCDB's Aurelian Nicea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florin Ecobescu in the 52nd minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, FCDB's goal looked a bit too open when Florin Ecobescu came free, but Aurelian Nicea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgil Oblemenco kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th match minute, FCDB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codruț Amarandei to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Florin Ecobescu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 59 played minutes FCDB got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Oblemenco. Remus Trăistaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Mercescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liviu Mercescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Remus Trăistaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FCDB booed when F.C.Progresul Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiberiu Râznicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernest Cudalb in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aurelian Nicea, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. FCDB's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Florin Ecobescu scored to the left of an out of position Aurelian Nicea, making the score, 0-1. After 79 played minutes FCDB got a freekick which was hit by Liviu Mercescu. In the 88th minute Liviu Mercescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Trăistaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, FCDB's goalkeeper Aurelian Nicea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernest Cudalb. Although FCDB had been in control for most of the match, F.C.Progresul Timisoara still came away with the win.
