Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Florin Ecobescu started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes FC Dreain Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Marian Tănăsescu. Remus Trăistaru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leontin Liciu in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Irinel Zbârciog had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remus Trăistaru. F.C.Progresul Timisoara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Irinel Zbârciog was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Remus Trăistaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irinel Zbârciog, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C.Progresul Timisoara's Remus Trăistaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irinel Zbârciog in the 16th minute of play. Iurie Neguțu's late challenge caught a F.C.Progresul Timisoara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iurie Neguțu helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes FC Dreain Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Iurie Neguțu. The supporters of FC Dreain Timisoara booed when F.C.Progresul Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Floricel didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Leontin Liciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irinel Zbârciog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Remus Trăistaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, F.C.Progresul Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Tănăsescu came free, but Remus Trăistaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Dreain Timisoara's Leontin Liciu got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Remus Trăistaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irinel Zbârciog in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute, FC Dreain Timisoara's Irinel Zbârciog dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Irinel Zbârciog made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Florin Ecobescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adam Vâlcu's late challenge caught a FC Dreain Timisoara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Vâlcu helped the player get up and apologised. Remus Trăistaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leontin Liciu in the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irinel Zbârciog in the 70th minute of play forced F.C.Progresul Timisoara's goalkeeper Remus Trăistaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in F.C.Progresul Timisoara's zone, Leontin Liciu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remus Trăistaru came out of the goal and Leontin Liciu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes into the match, F.C.Progresul Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Irinel Zbârciog came free, but Remus Trăistaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the F.C.Progresul Timisoara defense, Leontin Liciu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Remus Trăistaru. The F.C.Progresul Timisoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Remus Trăistaru should have stopped the shot. Victor Onișoru made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Tiberiu Râznicu sent off a good shot on target. If Leontin Liciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 minutes of play F.C.Progresul Timisoara's Adam Vâlcu was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, F.C.Progresul Timisoara's Adam Vâlcu got a free kick in the 91st minute. Leontin Liciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remus Trăistaru having to interfere. After 97 minutes of play, FC Dreain Timisoara's Leontin Liciu made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Remus Trăistaru was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that FC Dreain Timisoara were the better team. FC Dreain Timisoara's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
