Spectators: 6600 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) Șerban Velicu made the kick off and thus started the match. After having played for 4 minutes, Sever Neculuță managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Parnesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sever Neculuță was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Șerban Velicu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Parnesti booed when Catalu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorin Cristian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sever Neculuță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantin Dobrin having to interfere. Aurelian Chinezu kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Alin Iliescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 21st minute, Tiberiu Valeca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 25 minutes of play, Catalu's Dorin Cristian made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ioan Rioşanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Toader Turbatu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ioan Rioşanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 41 minutes of play, Catalu's Dorin Cristian made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ioan Rioşanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aurelian Chinezu was the one to do the kick off. When Aurelian Chinezu came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Catalu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurelian Chinezu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Șerban Velicu in the 54th minute of play forced Catalu's goalkeeper Constantin Dobrin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Șerban Velicu scored 1-2 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Constantin Dobrin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sever Neculuță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 82nd minute Șerban Velicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantin Dobrin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ioan Rioşanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelian Chinezu in the 84th minute of the match. Șerban Velicu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Constantin Dobrin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Constantin Dobrin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Șerban Velicu in the 92nd minute of play. Parnesti's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Aurelian Chinezu scored to the left of an out of position Ioan Rioşanu, making the score, 2-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Catalu had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
