After 14 played minutes F.C SBG DTR got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Uncheşu. After recieving a nice pass, Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca's Grigore Păvăloae tried to score from far away in the 15th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute of the game, Olimpiu Gurlui landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After a rather tough play, Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca's Remus Chinezu got a free kick in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the game, Fabian Barys cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Iustin Erbașu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vali Stoican received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Iustin Erbașu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Iustin Erbașu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when George Isaia got free with Lucian Caramitru in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca's Iustin Erbașu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Barys in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Iustin Erbașu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Lucian Caramitru successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

After 52 played minutes F.C SBG DTR got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Rareș. After 54 played minutes, Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca's Grigore Păvăloae shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lucian Caramitru came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca reached it. In the 60th minute, Vali Stoican got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Fabian Barys came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the F.C SBG DTR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Barys couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Fabian Barys managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C SBG DTR's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Barys was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iustin Erbașu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iustin Erbașu came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C SBG DTR's Fabian Barys. But to his dismay, Fabian Barys quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Iustin Erbașu made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Fabian Barys sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca's Iustin Erbașu got control of the ball when Fabian Barys tried to sneak it across the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, F.C SBG DTR's Vali Stoican sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iustin Erbașu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 77th minute, Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fabian Barys fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. F.C SBG DTR's Fabian Barys got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Univ. Tehnică Cluj-Napoca's Nistor Beraru got a free kick in the 87th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Fabian Barys managed to get in a good position for a shot. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
