Sportul Studentesc's Cesinha de Moraes quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Mugur Ailenei was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ayhan Tanyolaç hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Sorin Timofte came free with the goalkeeper in the 41st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Filip Pora could save by the left post. 42 minutes into the match, Sportul Studentesc's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Cotuțiu came free, but Filip Pora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute UMF IASI were awarded a corner. Sorin Timofte went to the cornerflag to take it. UMF IASI's Sorin Timofte was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Filip Pora in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 45 minutes into the match, Ştefan Gordunescu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Filip Pora, 2-1. Bogdan Chirițescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filip Pora read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aurel Cotuțiu to make the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Sorin Timofte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sportul Studentesc's Filip Pora was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sportul Studentesc's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sorin Timofte was slow to take the kick. During this time UMF IASI's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Sorin Timofte almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sportul Studentesc's Filip Pora did a great save. Sorin Timofte's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Filip Pora on his right side and into the goal. 56 minutes into the game it was 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Cotuțiu in the 65th minute of play forced Sportul Studentesc's goalkeeper Filip Pora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sportul Studentesc's Filip Pora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sorin Timofte in the 76th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Cristinel Pupăzan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filip Pora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sorin Timofte in the 82nd minute of the match. Aurel Cotuțiu might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filip Pora. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aurel Cotuțiu ran back to his position shaking his head. Filip Pora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sorin Timofte in the 88th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sorin Timofte in the 90th minute of play forced Sportul Studentesc's goalkeeper Filip Pora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filip Pora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurel Cotuțiu in the 92nd minute of the match. There was no doubt that UMF IASI were the better team. UMF IASI's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
