Spectators: 7723 (Terracing: 5793, Seating: 1776, VIP seats: 154) fc.zarnesti.brasov's Ivan Bălan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivan Bălan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ferdinand Rizescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Alexandru Creteanu put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Fabian Turcescu. In the 19th minute Stelian Balint shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Turcescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th match minute, Bratieni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Bălașa to maneuver through the defense. Marcel Răchită who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Ferdinand Rizescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mihăiţă Lupu during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Bratieni getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Mihăiţă Lupu hit a great ball. Ivan Bălan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinand Rizescu having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Damian Turbatu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabian Turcescu came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Bratieni's Alexandru Creteanu. But to his dismay, Alexandru Creteanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Stelian Balint made the kick off in the second half. Fabian Turcescu made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Nicolae Brumaru sent off a good shot on target. Fabian Turcescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Creteanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Stelian Balint hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Denis Neaga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ferdinand Rizescu. Bratieni's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Marcel Răchită sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabian Turcescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicu Păstrăv in the 76th minute of the match. After having played for 79 minutes, Ivan Bălan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. fc.zarnesti.brasov's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Bălan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 83 minutes, Stelian Balint mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bratieni and the fc.zarnesti.brasov players grew even worse after the yellow card. 83 minutes into the game, one of Bratieni:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Stelian Balint was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 89th match minute, Bratieni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stelian Balint to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Bălan in the 90th minute of play forced Bratieni's goalkeeper Ferdinand Rizescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st match minute, fc.zarnesti.brasov was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Răchită to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Nicolae Brumaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bratieni's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolae Brumaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabian Turcescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bratieni walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
