Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Apateul FC's Liviu Capșuneanu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Lucian Negulescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iacob Uncuţă. The goal made the score 1-0. Smirna's Lucian Negulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Iacob Uncuţă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucian Negulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Apateul FC defense, Lucian Negulescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iacob Uncuţă. The Apateul FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iacob Uncuţă should have stopped the shot. Vintilă Olariu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vintilă Mantu in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Francisc Moiș had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iacob Uncuţă. Apateul FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisc Moiș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Vintilă Olariu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tudor Enescu in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vintilă Mantu in the 21st minute of play forced Smirna's goalkeeper Vintilă Olariu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Horea Vişan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vintilă Olariu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Smirna's Lucian Negulescu in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Apateul FC's goalie prevented a goal. Lucian Negulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Uncuţă having to interfere. When Smirna's Lucian Negulescu in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Apateul FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Horea Vişan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Smirna's Vintilă Olariu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horea Vişan in the 32nd minute of play. Vintilă Olariu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Liviu Capșuneanu went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Vintilă Olariu came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Apateul FC's Horea Vişan. But to his dismay, Horea Vişan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. When Lucian Negulescu came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Smirna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucian Negulescu couldn't finish the play. Iacob Uncuţă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Negulescu in the 44th minute of play. Apateul FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lucian Negulescu 46 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-2. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucian Negulescu to make the kick off. Smirna were furious when Marin Augustin was red carded, 51 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 51st minute of the game. One of Smirna:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Apateul FC:s goal. 60 minutes into the match, Francisc Moiș had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iacob Uncuţă. Apateul FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisc Moiș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-4. After some careless play in the Apateul FC defense, Lucian Negulescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iacob Uncuţă. The Apateul FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iacob Uncuţă should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Smirna's Adrian Miroiu got a free kick in the 66th minute. Apateul FC's Tudor Enescu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 67th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Vintilă Olariu but with some difficulty. Iacob Uncuţă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Negulescu in the 69th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucian Negulescu in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iacob Uncuţă saved Apateul FC from getting behind. Iacob Uncuţă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucian Negulescu in the 80th minute of the match. Lucian Negulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ryszard Niezywy during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Apateul FC's Ryszard Niezywy got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The supporters of Apateul FC booed when Smirna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silviu Bornescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th match minute, Smirna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisc Bratu to maneuver through the defense. Vintilă Mantu kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 88thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Smirna's keeper Vintilă Olariu was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Nistor Mihălțan hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. When Smirna's David Băcila in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Apateul FC's goalie prevented a goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
