UTA Arad's Cristian Ispas suffered a sore thigh after 14 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 14 minutes, Eugen Miulescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FCB-QATAR-PLAYER and the UTA Arad players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eugen Miulescu hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Matei Gârdan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mihnea Vintilescu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 36 minute of play. Ionel Petrulean could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Matei Gârdan made a huge save. UTA Arad's Matei Gârdan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save UTA Arad from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Ionel Petrulean kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Matei Gârdan. That made the score 2-2 in the 42 minute of play. If Silviu Mihuț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ionel Petrulean made a kick off. Matei Gârdan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihnea Vintilescu in the 53rd minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, UTA Arad's goal looked a bit too open when Ionel Petrulean came free, but Matei Gârdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
