Spectators: 7560 (Terracing: 5748, Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ernest Ogășanu took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Nichifor Benga managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC POLI TIMISOARA's supporters rose to their feet, but Nichifor Benga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petruț Ghețea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Petruț Ghețea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilian Tărău in the 6th minute of the match. Petruț Ghețea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irinel Breazu, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Emilian Tărău scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petruț Ghețea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cazimir Argăseală blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Petruț Ghețea having to make a save. Ernest Ogășanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Marincean having to interfere. Emilian Tărău recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24th minute Alexandru Maghear shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Ghețea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes of play, FC POLI TIMISOARA's Alexandru Maghear made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Petruț Ghețea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nichifor Benga charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nichifor Benga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nichifor Benga hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Petruț Ghețea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandru Maghear in the 33rd minute of play. Emilian Tărău kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Irinel Breazu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Ghețea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petruț Ghețea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilian Tărău, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. When Irinel Breazu came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the FC POLI TIMISOARA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Irinel Breazu couldn't finish the play. Cazimir Săvescu hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half FC POLI TIMISOARA were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emilian Tărău stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Emilian Tărău had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Petruț Ghețea. FC Valea Dragului GR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilian Tărău was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. A collision led to FC Valea Dragului GR getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Narcis Cârneci hit a great ball. Cazimir Marincean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicu Lăceanu in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Cazimir Săvescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Petruț Ghețea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Petruț Ghețea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Irinel Breazu in the 68th minute of the match. Emilian Tărău in the 71stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Petruț Ghețea, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alexandru Maghear received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Petruț Ghețea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Alexandru Maghear's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petruț Ghețea was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Petruț Ghețea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandru Maghear in the 89th minute of play. Cazimir Săvescu was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sever Balaban in the 94th minute of play forced FC POLI TIMISOARA's goalkeeper Cazimir Marincean to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC POLI TIMISOARA played a much better game than FC Valea Dragului GR and deserved their victory. The FC Valea Dragului GR players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
