In the 20th minute Silviu Slavici shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Uncuţă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apateul FC's Iacob Uncuţă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudiu Nacu in the 48th minute of play.

Vintilă Mantu hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Apateul FC defense, Claudiu Nacu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iacob Uncuţă. The Apateul FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iacob Uncuţă should have stopped the shot. Cornel Hațegan made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Vintilă Mantu sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Claudiu Nacu sped through Apateul FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Iacob Uncuţă. Iacob Uncuţă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudiu Nacu's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. After 72 minutes, Vintilă Mantu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Apateul FC and the Petelea players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Apateul FC's Vintilă Mantu got a free kick in the 72nd minute. When Matei Bute fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petelea's protests and gave Matei Bute a yellow card for diving instead. Matei Bute hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Petelea's Silviu Slavici got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cornel Hațegan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tudor Enescu in the 87th minute. The supporters of Apateul FC booed when Petelea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matei Bute didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Petelea had won after a very even match.
