Basarab Odobescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcel Moga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basarab Odobescu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 7th minute Virgil Mineață shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Moga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basarab Odobescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Marcel Moga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Odobescu in the 11th minute of play forced Ciesti's goalkeeper Marcel Moga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Basarab Odobescu in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcel Moga saved Ciesti from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgil Mineață in the 29th minute of play forced Ciesti's goalkeeper Marcel Moga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The FC Xander fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when FC Xander's Basarab Odobescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 0-2 became the score in the 35th minute when Basarab Odobescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to FC Xander getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Filip Grama hit a great ball. Ciesti's Marcel Moga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasile Dascălu in the 41st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vasile Dascălu in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcel Moga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcel Moga came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Xander's Basarab Odobescu. But to his dismay, Basarab Odobescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After the first half FC Xander were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basarab Odobescu to strike the kick off in the second half. Basarab Odobescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasile Dascălu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Moga having to interfere. If Basarab Odobescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciesti's Marcel Moga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Ciesti from getting a goal against them. Ionică Ferenț hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Ciesti's Marcel Moga got control of the ball when Basarab Odobescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marius Popilean charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marius Popilean the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ciesti getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Marius Popilean hit a great ball. After having played for 85 minutes, Basarab Odobescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Xander's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basarab Odobescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Dumitru Şimandan fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ciesti's protests and gave Dumitru Şimandan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th match minute, Ciesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dumitru Şimandan to maneuver through the defense. FC Xander's Vasile Dascălu got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vasile Dascălu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Moga having to interfere. The Ciesti fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Xander were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
