After 17 minutes of play, Caraseu's Aurelian Focșa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dinu Cârneci was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 28th match minute, FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Muncelean to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's goal looked a bit too open when Costin Braica came free, but Dinu Cârneci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's zone, Mugur Godeanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dinu Cârneci came out of the goal and Mugur Godeanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dinu Cârneci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelian Focșa in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Caraseu were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eric Brânzaru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eric Brânzaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manole Oțeteleșanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute, Virgil Sorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Caraseu's zone, Eric Brânzaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Drâmbă came out of the goal and Eric Brânzaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dinu Cârneci made an important save on a dangerous shot by Costin Braica in the 76th minute. Eric Brânzaru struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Emanuel Drâmbă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit. If Aurelian Focșa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manole Oțeteleșanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinu Cârneci having to interfere.
