Marcel Moga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Ciesti getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Marius Popilean hit a great ball. Marcel Moga came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's Eric Brânzaru. But to his dismay, Eric Brânzaru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Iordache Sichitiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Moga having to interfere. The supporters of FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit booed when Ciesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Popilean didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Marius Popilean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Valentin Muncelean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinu Cârneci came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Ciesti's Florin Unchiaşu. But to his dismay, Florin Unchiaşu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Codrin Mustățea hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Marcel Moga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Brânzaru in the 30th minute of play. Valentin Muncelean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 played minutes Ciesti got a freekick which was hit by Marius Popilean. Marcel Moga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Brânzaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Eric Brânzaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eric Brânzaru to strike the kick off in the second half. FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's Dinu Cârneci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliodor Boieraș in the 68th minute of play. Florin Unchiaşu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcel Moga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Brânzaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eric Brânzaru was extremely unlucky when he, in the 81st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's Eric Brânzaru got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute Eric Brânzaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Moga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marian Siniştean struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Marcel Moga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit. Eric Brânzaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Eric Brânzaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ciesti throughout the match.
