The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's Dinu Cârneci proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit from getting a goal against them. IULIA TEAM's Gelu Davidescu got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dinu Cârneci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragoş Sichitiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Gelu Davidescu notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's Dinu Cârneci. Dinu Cârneci was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dinu Cârneci came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by IULIA TEAM's Gavril Achim. But to his dismay, Gavril Achim quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Eric Brânzaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind IULIA TEAM's goalkeeper Aron Elian, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Gavril Achim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 65th match minute, FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marius Ilarie to maneuver through the defense. If Gavril Achim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's goalie and right to Gavril Achim. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Gavril Achim's late challenge caught a FC Ceaușescu 1947 Unit's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. IULIA TEAM walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
