In the 22nd minute, Mădălin Ducu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Basarab Odobescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonard Aelenei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Horaţiu Gherdan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Basarab Odobescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Grabiel having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Emanuel Bădiță hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute Basarab Odobescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Grabiel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgil Mineață in the 41st minute of play forced FC Moshu Sibiu's goalkeeper Ramiro Grabiel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vasile Dascălu took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ramiro Grabiel.
