Emanuel Chihaia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Costică Tănăsie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute Lucian Horea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costică Tănăsie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costică Tănăsie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Chihaia, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Mihail Cînu managed to get in a good position for a shot. SIERRA CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Mihail Cînu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Costică Tănăsie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iacob Urduban came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cătălin Tadici could save by the left post. Cătălin Tadici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cazimir Berceanu in the 17th minute of play. Costică Tănăsie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anton Marinică, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. A collision led to FCM Bacau getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. George Joja hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Anton Marinică managed to get in a good position for a shot. After 29 minutes, George Joja mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FCM Bacau and the SIERRA CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. When George Joja was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 31 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, FCM Bacau's George Joja got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Tudor Porumboiu took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Costică Tănăsie. Costică Tănăsie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 43rd minute, Anton Marinică got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iacob Urduban made a kick off. When Mihail Cînu came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the SIERRA CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihail Cînu couldn't finish the play. Cătălin Tadici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cazimir Berceanu in the 55th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FCM Bacau's zone, Anton Marinică stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Costică Tănăsie came out of the goal and Anton Marinică tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cazimir Berceanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. SIERRA CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anton Marinică was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th match minute, FCM Bacau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihăiţă Merișor to maneuver through the defense. Costică Tănăsie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Marinică, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute, Emanuel Chihaia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Costică Tănăsie. The goal made the score 0-3. After 82 minutes, Petrică Herea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SIERRA CF and the FCM Bacau players grew even worse after the yellow card. Costică Tănăsie made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Anton Marinică sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over SIERRA CF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FCM Bacau throughout the match.
