In the 4th minute of the match, Cazimir Berceanu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Albert Brumă saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gigel Romaşcanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costică Tănăsie having to interfere. Gigel Romaşcanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Costică Tănăsie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costică Tănăsie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandru Corbu in the 18th minute of play. Costică Tănăsie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of George Iacobeanu's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. A collision led to FCM Bacau getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Iustin Caraiman hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in -PSC- FC STEAUA08's zone, George Joja stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albert Brumă came out of the goal and George Joja tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Costică Tănăsie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigel Romaşcanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Iacob Urduban hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Gigel Romaşcanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Valeriu Manea put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Costică Tănăsie. George Iacobeanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cazimir Berceanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to FCM Bacau getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Mihăiţă Merișor hit a great ball. In the 57th match minute, FCM Bacau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cazimir Berceanu to maneuver through the defense. If Gigel Romaşcanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Brumă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihăiţă Merișor in the 62nd minute of play. Gigel Romaşcanu charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gigel Romaşcanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FCM Bacau booed when -PSC- FC STEAUA08 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigel Romaşcanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. -PSC- FC STEAUA08's Albert Brumă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iacob Urduban in the 68th minute of play. Flavius Tudorică kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute of the match Ştefan Gorgan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albert Brumă skillfully saved the ball. In the 78th minute, Valeriu Manea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The -PSC- FC STEAUA08 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. George Iacobeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Costică Tănăsie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Iacobeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 90 minutes into the match, -PSC- FC STEAUA08's goal looked a bit too open when Iacob Urduban came free, but Albert Brumă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute Gigel Romaşcanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costică Tănăsie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costică Tănăsie made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when George Iacobeanu sent off a good shot on target. In the 94th minute, one of FCM Bacau:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FCM Bacau. -PSC- FC STEAUA08's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
