Iacob Urduban succeeded in the game's 4th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Cazimir Berceanu struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Adam Chițan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FCM Bacau. 17 minutes into the match, Stroestii's goal looked a bit too open when Cazimir Berceanu came free, but Adam Chițan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costică Tănăsie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cornel Zdrelea in the 19th minute. Remus Bărbulescu made in the 23rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Stroestii's Horaţiu Boroneanț. Cazimir Berceanu scored 0-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adam Chițan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cornel Zdrelea succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 31st playminute. Cornel Zdrelea who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Costică Tănăsie when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 38 played minutes Stroestii got a freekick which was hit by Ştefan Bercea. If Ştefan Toma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cornel Zdreleas short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Costică Tănăsie to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. George Joja's late challenge caught a Stroestii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. George Joja helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, FCM Bacau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Joja to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the game, Cornel Zdrelea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Costică Tănăsie. Cornel Zdrelea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 56th minute, Cornel Zdrelea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stroestii fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Costică Tănăsie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ştefan Toma, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 69th minute, FCM Bacau's Cazimir Berceanu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. Cazimir Berceanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute, Cornel Zdrelea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Costică Tănăsie was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. In the 79th minute, Remus Bărbulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cornel Zdrelea in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Costică Tănăsie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Costică Tănăsie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornel Zdrelea in the 87th minute of play. Cazimir Berceanu's late challenge caught a Stroestii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 95 played minutes, Stroestii's Gheorghe Zdrobiş shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Costică Tănăsie came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stroestii reached it. Costică Tănăsie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornel Zdrelea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
