After 8th play minutes Martin Tirulescu shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Teodor Nacu and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 24th minute, Leonides Poz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute, Horea Dobrotă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Basarab Traianescu hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Teodor Nacu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horea Dobrotă went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Renașterea Drumul Taberei's Grigore Stolojan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Renașterea Drumul Taberei from getting a goal against them. After 45 played minutes Schiaul got a freekick which was hit by Ştefan Mutu. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonides Poz was the one to do the kick off. Schiaul's Leonides Poz got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Petrică Luncașu hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Martin Tirulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teodor Nacu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petru Pacuraru in the 70th minute of play. When Martin Tirulescu came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Renașterea Drumul Taberei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Tirulescu couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petru Pacuraru got free with Teodor Nacu in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Tirulescu in the 82nd minute of play forced Schiaul's goalkeeper Teodor Nacu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Tirulescu, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 87th minute Mădălin Şoimaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigore Stolojan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonides Poz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sergiu Pisculescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Grigore Stolojan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Martin Tirulescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Teodor Nacu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Schiaul manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Renașterea Drumul Taberei to win.
