Emilian Bute received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Codrin Tănăsocă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damian Buga charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damian Buga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, one of Galaţi AS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Galaţi AS. Bogdan Irod took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emilian Bute in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Codrin Tănăsocă, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Dumbravioara getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Codruț Nicea hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Galaţi AS's zone, Emilian Bute stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Codrin Tănăsocă came out of the goal and Emilian Bute tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute, Narcis Buhoiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Traian Tănăsescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codrin Tănăsocă having to interfere. Bogdan Irod took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nichifor Pipirig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emilian Bute to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Galaţi AS's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Tănăsescu came free, but Codrin Tănăsocă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute Mugur Bulzan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Irod saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dumbravioara's Bogdan Irod played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichifor Pipirig in the 58th minute of play. Bogdan Irod was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. After 62 minutes, Aurelian Cârnu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galaţi AS and the Dumbravioara players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th minute, Eugen Damian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Traian Tănăsescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Galaţi AS getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Mădălin Tilea hit a great ball. In the 76th minute Mugur Bulzan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Irod saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Bogdan Irod made a huge save. 79 minutes into the match, Galaţi AS's goal looked a bit too open when Emilian Bute came free, but Codrin Tănăsocă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bogdan Irod showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nichifor Pipirig in the 83rd minute of the match. When Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Galaţi AS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei couldn't finish the play. Dumbravioara's Bogdan Irod played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vlad Şimoc in the 86th minute of play. Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Bogdan Irod made a huge save. After 92 played minutes Galaţi AS got a freekick which was hit by Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei.
