Liviu Frențiu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 12 minutes into the match. The referee ignored Dumbravioara's protests and gave Narcis Buhoiu a yellow card for diving instead. Sever Vieru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilian Bute in the 34th minute of play. Bogdan Irod made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciprian Hurmuz in the 36th minute of play. Cristi Comșa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bogdan Irod came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristi Comșa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 38th minute. Mădălin Buznea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Bogdan Irod made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Cristi Comșa made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Dumbravioara got a freekick which was hit by Narcis Buhoiu. Augustin Zbârlea hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 56th match minute, Polovragi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilian Hălmăgeanu to maneuver through the defense. Sever Vieru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Codruț Nicea in the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Emilian Bute left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dumbravioara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Codruț Nicea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Sever Vieru made a huge save. Polovragi's Sever Vieru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Polovragi from getting a goal against them. Pavel Zgondea hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, Codruț Nicea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sever Vieru. Polovragi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Codruț Nicea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Emilian Bute sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emilian Butes short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Sever Vieru to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Emilian Bute received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Sever Vieru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bogdan Irod took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Zgondea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maxim Burtescu kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Dumbravioara's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
