Alex Blănaru came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Galaţi AS's Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei. But to his dismay, Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Alex Blănaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nichifor Pipirig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorin Enoiu during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dorin Enoiu kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Alex Blănaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nichifor Pipirig in the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to F.C. Ripensia Timişoara getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Alex Stoica hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Alex Blănaru however easily saved by the left post. Alex Blănaru was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Vlad Şimoc capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vlad Şimoc really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 30th minute, Dorin Enoiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 33 minutes, Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galaţi AS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Costel Rioşanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Blănaru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 44 minutes into the match, F.C. Ripensia Timişoara's goal looked a bit too open when Vlad Şimoc came free, but Alex Blănaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vlad Şimoc to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Galaţi AS's Vlad Şimoc nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ripensia Timişoara's goal looked a bit too open when Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei came free, but Alex Blănaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Nichifor Pipirig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galaţi AS's supporters rose to their feet, but Nichifor Pipirig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Blănaru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 64 minutes into the game, Galaţi AS's Vlad Şimoc nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alex Blănaru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. After some careless play in the F.C. Ripensia Timişoara defense, Mugur Bulzan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Blănaru. The F.C. Ripensia Timişoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Blănaru should have stopped the shot. Alex Blănaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vlad Şimoc, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. F.C. Ripensia Timişoara's Alex Blănaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute of the match Galaţi AS got a corner. F.C. Ripensia Timişoara's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Damian Buga ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alex Blănaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nichifor Pipirig in the 87th minute of the match. Alex Blănaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vlad Şimoc, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei in the 93rd minute of play forced F.C. Ripensia Timişoara's goalkeeper Alex Blănaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mugur Bulzan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Galaţi AS had played much better football throughout.
