Albert Godeanu hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Iurie Ciucă might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgil Macovei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iurie Ciucă ran back to his position shaking his head. Iurie Ciucă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Virgil Macovei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Nișu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgil Macovei read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Ionel Ghiciușca struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Gelu Blaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Veveritele Ucigase -MM-. Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s Virgil Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Nișu in the 30th minute of play. Virgil Macovei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Ciucă, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Virgil Macovei came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by CFR Cluj's Iurie Ciucă. But to his dismay, Iurie Ciucă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vintilă Mavrogheni during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s Vintilă Mavrogheni got a free kick in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Iurie Ciucă came free, but Virgil Macovei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Denis Hurmuzache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emanuel Nișu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Macovei having to interfere. The CFR Cluj fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when CFR Cluj's Emanuel Nișu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

Iurie Ciucă could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Virgil Macovei made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuel Nișu in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgil Macovei saved Veveritele Ucigase -MM- from getting behind. 65 minutes into the game, Rareș Hârtopanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CFR Cluj the free kick. The supporters of CFR Cluj booed when Veveritele Ucigase -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rareș Hârtopanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s zone, Emanuel Nișu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgil Macovei came out of the goal and Emanuel Nișu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Iurie Ciucă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iurie Ciucă might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgil Macovei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iurie Ciucă ran back to his position shaking his head. CFR Cluj's Petre Axinte shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 73rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Virgil Macovei but with some difficulty. In the 76th minute, Denis Hurmuzache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgil Macovei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Nișu in the 81st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Nișu in the 87th minute of play forced Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s goalkeeper Virgil Macovei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s Virgil Macovei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Veveritele Ucigase -MM- from getting a goal against them. After having played for 89 minutes, Emanuel Nișu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CFR Cluj's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Nișu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iurie Ciucă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
