The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Robert Creteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisc Braica made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eric Cazan in the 6th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iordache Şerbănoiu in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stelian Ionete prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 11 minutes into the match, Echipa Elenei's goal looked a bit too open when Iordache Şerbănoiu came free, but Stelian Ionete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cornel Comșa's late challenge caught a Echipa Elenei's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cornel Comșa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Echipa Elenei. Călin Zaharia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Francisc Braica. 1-0. Luca Moise's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Francisc Braica skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Stelian Ionete showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iordache Şerbănoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Stelian Ionete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Cosâmbescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 32 played minutes FCM BACAU got a freekick which was hit by Alex Urdoi. Călin Zaharia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Francisc Braica. FCM BACAU's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luca Moise's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Francisc Braica skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Eric Cazan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Echipa Elenei's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Cazan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisc Braica breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Francisc Braica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Moise in the 39th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iordache Şerbănoiu in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stelian Ionete saved Echipa Elenei from getting behind.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luca Moise to make the kick off. Robert Creteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisc Braica having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Echipa Elenei's goalkeeper Stelian Ionete had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriel Cosâmbescu. In the 63rd minute, Luca Moise got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Echipa Elenei's Stelian Ionete proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Echipa Elenei from getting a goal against them. Stelian Ionete made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Gabriel Cosâmbescu sent off a good shot on target. After 70 played minutes FCM BACAU got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Cosâmbescu. 71 minutes into the match, Echipa Elenei's goal looked a bit too open when Iordache Şerbănoiu came free, but Stelian Ionete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, FCM BACAU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pompiliu Albuț to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute of the match Silviu Iancu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisc Braica showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luca Moise's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francisc Braica read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Luca Moise cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Francisc Braica was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of FCM BACAU:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Echipa Elenei:s goal. Echipa Elenei's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
