If Emanuel Nișu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Mihai Savu fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LEGIO XIII GEMINA's protests and gave Mihai Savu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to LEGIO XIII GEMINA getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Mihai Savu hit a great ball. Martin Bran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mihai Savu took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gelu Blaga. Gelu Blaga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 37 played minutes CFR Cluj got a freekick which was hit by Denis Hurmuzache. In the 37th minute of the match Dinu Giosu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gelu Blaga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of CFR Cluj booed when LEGIO XIII GEMINA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionică Nicolaescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Gică Alexandru made the kick off in the second half. In the 85th minute, Gică Alexandru reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gelu Blaga. The goal made the score 1-4. LEGIO XIII GEMINA's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
