Sergiu Dorian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steaua Bucuresti's Iulian Urducea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vintilă Zegreanu in the 23rd minute of play. Iulian Urducea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergiu Dorian in the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of Steaua Bucuresti booed when FC Pirciu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ion Popoacă didn't get a good kick on the ball. The FC Pirciu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vintilă Zegreanu to make the kick off. Vintilă Zegreanu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Iulian Urducea came out and tried to block the shot, but Vintilă Zegreanu slotted it home off the left post making it 2-8 in the 77th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 79 minutes into the game, when Sergiu Dorian put in a rough tackle. In the 80th match minute, FC Pirciu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergiu Dorian to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the FC Pirciu defense, Aurel Ciocoiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Octavian Isăilă. The FC Pirciu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Octavian Isăilă should have stopped the shot. 85 minutes into the match, Ion Popoacă had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iulian Urducea. Steaua Bucuresti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ion Popoacă was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-9. Steaua Bucuresti's Iulian Urducea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Steaua Bucuresti from getting a goal against them. Steaua Bucuresti's Iulian Urducea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vintilă Zegreanu in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st match minute, FC Pirciu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radu Afloarei to maneuver through the defense. FC Pirciu played a much better game than Steaua Bucuresti and deserved their victory. The Steaua Bucuresti players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
