In the 11th minute Augustin Cosoroabă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petre Stere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mircea Alamaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rapid FC's Francisc Ţeica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasile Enășoiu in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gică Haidău during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vasile Enășoiu struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Francisc Ţeica didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tociloasa. After a rather tough play, Rapid FC's Maxim Pop got a free kick in the 94th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rapid FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! Tociloasa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
