Vintilă Minda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Tutuianu in the 7th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Vali Encea made a precise shot to the right of Bobby Ares. Rapid București's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. UPB FC's Vintilă Minda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avram Dănănae in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Vali Cercelescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rapid București fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 19th minute Avram Dănănae shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vintilă Minda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Avram Dănănae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Vintilă Minda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vintilă Minda came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Rapid București's Vali Cercelescu. But to his dismay, Vali Cercelescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Eliodor Cămătaru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bobby Ares having to make a save. 34 minutes into the game, Avram Dănănae cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Vintilă Minda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the UPB FC defense, Vali Cercelescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vintilă Minda. The UPB FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vintilă Minda should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the game, Rapid București's Avram Dănănae nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vintilă Minda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. 44 minutes into the game, Alberigo La Penna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UPB FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rapid București the free kick. A collision led to UPB FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Vali Encea hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 1-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Avram Dănănae was the one to do the kick off. İsa Şerhenk charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed İsa Şerhenk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rapid București booed when UPB FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. İsa Şerhenk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ovidiu Răica struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Vintilă Minda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rapid București. Bobby Ares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliodor Cămătaru in the 60th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, UPB FC's goal looked a bit too open when Avram Dănănae came free, but Vintilă Minda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vintilă Minda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vali Cercelescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute Eliodor Cămătaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Ares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliodor Cămătaru in the 68th minute of play forced Rapid București's goalkeeper Bobby Ares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. UPB FC's Eliodor Cămătaru got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 84th minute Eliodor Cămătaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Ares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Rapid București's goal looked a bit too open when Virgil Pășcuțoiu came free, but Bobby Ares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bobby Ares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliodor Cămătaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ulpiano Herbruger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bobby Ares having to make a save. With a little luck, UPB FC's Vintilă Minda got control of the ball when Ovidiu Răica tried to sneak it across the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, UPB FC's goalkeeper Vintilă Minda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vali Cercelescu. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rapid București had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
