The audience thought a goal was coming when Ovidiu Răica got free with Sebastian Bogza in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 7th minute of the match Rapid București got a corner. Sofriceni's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Avram Dănănae ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vali Cercelescu kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Sebastian Bogza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avram Dănănae in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Rapid București's Stelian Tutuianu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sebastian Bogza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Avram Dănănae fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Bogza having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Vali Cercelescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Sebastian Bogza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 37 minutes into the match, Sofriceni's goalkeeper Sebastian Bogza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ovidiu Răica. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sofriceni's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Avram Dănănae was slow to take the kick. During this time Rapid București's players had a chance to rest. If Bernardo Melani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sofriceni's Sebastian Bogza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avram Dănănae in the 42nd minute of play. Sebastian Bogza was a little too slow when Vali Cercelescu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Avram Dănănae made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Isac Lăzăroiu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bobby Ares, passed just outside the right post. In the 53rd minute, Avram Dănănae ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sebastian Bogza was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 58 minutes into the match, Avram Dănănae had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sebastian Bogza. Sofriceni's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Avram Dănănae was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. After a rather tough play, Sofriceni's Augustin Postelnicescu got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sofriceni's zone, Avram Dănănae stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Bogza came out of the goal and Avram Dănănae tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sofriceni's Sebastian Bogza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vali Cercelescu in the 65th minute of play. Avram Dănănae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Sebastian Bogza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ovidiu Răica came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Rapid București fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidiu Răica couldn't finish the play.
