Codruț Neagoe charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Horaţiu Bogrea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augustin Oprișor's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Gigi Donecea scored 3-4 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Horaţiu Bogrea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Horaţiu Bogrea came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by CFR Cluj MZ's Eric Ghiorman. But to his dismay, Eric Ghiorman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. Codruț Neagoe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horaţiu Bogrea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Ghiorman in the 72nd minute of the match. Horaţiu Bogrea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihnea Hăulică, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CFR Cluj MZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augustin Oprișor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Petrică Grindeanu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cătălin Pancu firmly grabbed it by the left post. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
