Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Carpeni Athletic's Cristi Corbeanu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But to his dismay, Ovidiu Răica quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Iosif Pantelimon fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rapid București's protests and gave Iosif Pantelimon a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Rapid București's Iosif Pantelimon got a free kick in the 11th minute. Ovidiu Răica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Horaţiu Bogrea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stelian Tutuianu hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, Avram Dănănae ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horaţiu Bogrea was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Horaţiu Bogrea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovidiu Răica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristi Corbeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horaţiu Bogrea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ovidiu Răica's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. The audience was convinced that Avram Dănănae's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horaţiu Bogrea was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. After 36th play minutes Avram Dănănae shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Horaţiu Bogrea and just under the crossbar into goal. After having played for 43 minutes, Ovidiu Răica managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rapid București's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidiu Răica was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Avram Dănănae managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rapid București's supporters rose to their feet, but Avram Dănănae was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horaţiu Bogrea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Vali Cercelescu came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Rapid București fans jumped to their feet. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Avram Dănănae made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Codruț Neagoe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the match, Carpeni Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Avram Dănănae came free, but Horaţiu Bogrea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Carpeni Athletic's Horaţiu Bogrea got control of the ball when Ovidiu Răica tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ovidiu Răica who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Horaţiu Bogrea when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lucrețiu Brădea charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucrețiu Brădea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gigi Vermeşan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Horaţiu Bogrea when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 81 minutes into the game, Codruț Neagoe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carpeni Athletic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rapid București the free kick. After 81 played minutes Carpeni Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Codruț Neagoe. 90 minutes into the match, Rapid București's goal looked a bit too open when Cristi Corbeanu came free, but Bobby Ares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bobby Ares came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Carpeni Athletic's Petrică Grindeanu. But to his dismay, Petrică Grindeanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3.
