Spectators: 7652 (Terracing: 5819, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Viorel Zgîrţa started the match with the kick off. The supporters of minerul -MM- booed when UPB FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulpiano Herbruger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vintilă Minda came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by minerul -MM-'s Viorel Zgîrţa. But to his dismay, Viorel Zgîrţa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a little luck, minerul -MM-'s Remus Marchiș got control of the ball when Vali Encea tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliodor Cămătaru in the 15th minute of play forced minerul -MM-'s goalkeeper Remus Marchiș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Cristi Eftimescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vintilă Minda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viorel Zgîrţa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Claudiu Bădescu made a precise shot to the right of Vintilă Minda. UPB FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Vintilă Minda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viorel Zgîrţa in the 25th minute of the match. After some careless play in the minerul -MM- defense, Ulpiano Herbruger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Remus Marchiș. The minerul -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Remus Marchiș should have stopped the shot. Eliodor Cămătaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Remus Marchiș made a huge save. Viorel Zgîrţa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vintilă Minda having to interfere. Remus Marchiș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliodor Cămătaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, minerul -MM-'s Remus Marchiș got control of the ball when Ulpiano Herbruger tried to sneak it across the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, minerul -MM-'s goalkeeper Remus Marchiș had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vali Encea. The minerul -MM- fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when minerul -MM-'s Claudiu Bădescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. minerul -MM-'s Remus Marchiș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgil Pășcuțoiu in the 43rd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

UPB FC's Bengt-Rune Linquist quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sandu Brânzaru, made in the 55th minute of the game. In the 57th minute Eliodor Cămătaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Marchiș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Viorel Zgîrţa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vintilă Minda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudiu Bădescu got free with Vintilă Minda in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute Ulpiano Herbruger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Marchiș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, minerul -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Eliodor Cămătaru came free, but Remus Marchiș reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Claudiu Bădescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Vintilă Minda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Remus Marchiș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliodor Cămătaru in the 90th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Cristi Eftimescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vintilă Minda. UPB FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristi Eftimescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. After a rather tough play, UPB FC's Sergiu Ştefănoiu got a free kick in the 95th minute.
