Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Octav Popeneciu started the match with the kick off. Aristide Cioroianu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moise Cutieru went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Marcel Vergulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Diaconu, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Marcel Vergulescu came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Craiova's Felix Arsene. But to his dismay, Felix Arsene quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Romeo Diaconu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th match minute, Deyanhur Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mugur Arieșan to maneuver through the defense. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Craiova's Romeo Diaconu in the 21st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Marcel Vergulescu was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Deyanhur Timisoara through an amazing save. A collision led to Deyanhur Timisoara getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Ion Șerbulescu hit a great ball. Felix Arsene came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcel Vergulescu could save by the left post. Romeo Diaconu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Arsene recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Craiova getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Mihail Aluculesei hit a great ball. Moise Cutieru took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aristide Cioroianu. Aristide Cioroianu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Marcel Vergulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Diaconu in the 41st minute of play. Romeo Diaconu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Marcel Vergulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moise Cutieru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romeo Diaconu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Deyanhur Timisoara booed when Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moise Chificeac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcel Vergulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Diaconu, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Romeo Diaconu made a precise shot to the right of Marcel Vergulescu. Deyanhur Timisoara's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. In the 73rd minute of the match, Moise Cutieru tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aristide Cioroianu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 75th minute Romeo Diaconu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Vergulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Horea Boacă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Craiova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deyanhur Timisoara the free kick. Felix Arsene fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Vergulescu having to interfere. In the 79th minute Romeo Diaconu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Vergulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcel Vergulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Arsene in the 87th minute of play. Marcel Vergulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Diaconu in the 92nd minute of the match. Mugur Arieșan struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Aristide Cioroianu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deyanhur Timisoara. Deyanhur Timisoara's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
