Costin Dobrițoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stelian Milcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan Dăscălescu charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dan Dăscălescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FC DACIA BRĂILA's Dan Dăscălescu got a free kick in the 11th minute. Dorneni's Costin Dobrițoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costică Zbuchea in the 14th minute of play. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Stelian Milcu sped through Dorneni's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Costin Dobrițoiu. In the 18th minute, Gigi Bilașco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgil Curteanu made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Claudiu Drăgănoiu sent off a good shot on target. Petrică Vulcănescu lost his temper 40 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dorneni! Costin Dobrițoiu had in the 42ndth minute some difficulties stopping Dan Dăscălescu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Costin Dobrițoiu came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by FC DACIA BRĂILA's Dan Dăscălescu. But to his dismay, Dan Dăscălescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. FC DACIA BRĂILA's Virgil Curteanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save FC DACIA BRĂILA from getting a goal against them. If Claudiu Drăgănoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Stelian Milcu made the kick off in the second half. Nicodim Rusu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Costin Dobrițoiu made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Martin Onciu sent off a good shot on target. After 70 minutes, Virgil Iftimescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC DACIA BRĂILA and the Dorneni players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC DACIA BRĂILA getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Virgil Iftimescu hit a great ball. FC DACIA BRĂILA's Stelian Milcu got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 79 played minutes FC DACIA BRĂILA got a freekick which was hit by Horia Noica. Virgil Curteanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudiu Drăgănoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, FC DACIA BRĂILA's goal looked a bit too open when Claudiu Drăgănoiu came free, but Virgil Curteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 played minutes FC DACIA BRĂILA got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Iftimescu. In the 83rd match minute, FC DACIA BRĂILA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Avram Voica to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Claudiu Drăgănoiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dorneni's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudiu Drăgănoiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgil Curteanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Virgil Curteanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Drăgănoiu in the 88th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudiu Drăgănoiu in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgil Curteanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC DACIA BRĂILA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
