Spectators: 7652 (Terracing: 5741, Seating: 1759, VIP seats: 152) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Pompiliu Penescu took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th minute Pompiliu Penescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodim Erbașu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Rusetul's Pompiliu Penescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicodim Erbașu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicodim Erbașu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pompiliu Penescu in the 9th minute of play. Mihai Enache charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mihai Enache the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pompiliu Penescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Nicodim Erbașu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Pompiliu Penescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicodim Erbașu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Pelin during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rusetul's Victor Pelin got a free kick in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihai Enache in the 23rd minute of play forced Rusetul's goalkeeper Adrian Grămescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aurelian Eremia's late challenge caught a Rusetul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurelian Eremia helped the player get up and apologised. Aurelian Eremia kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Nicodim Erbașu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pompiliu Penescu in the 26th minute of the match. Victor Pelin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Nicodim Erbașu made a huge save. When Mihai Enache was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 28 minutes had been played. A collision led to Momolesti getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Mihai Enache hit a great ball. In the 34th minute of the match, Martin Busuioceanu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nicodim Erbașu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niculae Floruțiu in the 38th minute of play forced Momolesti's goalkeeper Nicodim Erbașu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Rusetul's Victor Pelin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Valentin Hănescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vintilă Cupșa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adrian Grămescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Grigore Melinte in the 54th minute. Grigore Melinte charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Grigore Melinte the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Grigore Melinte hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Momolesti's zone, Martin Busuioceanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicodim Erbașu came out of the goal and Martin Busuioceanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the match, Momolesti's goal looked a bit too open when Pompiliu Penescu came free, but Nicodim Erbașu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Rusetul's Adrian Grămescu got control of the ball when Valentin Hănescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valentin Hănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Grămescu having to interfere. Grigore Melinte blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adrian Grămescu having to make a save. Nicodim Erbașu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pompiliu Penescu in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Rusetul booed when Momolesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grigore Melinte didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Pelin in the 75th minute of play forced Momolesti's goalkeeper Nicodim Erbașu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicodim Erbașu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Busuioceanu in the 77th minute of play. Momolesti's Vintilă Cupșa got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, Pompiliu Penescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicodim Erbașu. Momolesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pompiliu Penescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Romeo Stănciulaş's late challenge caught a Rusetul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romeo Stănciulaş helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Momolesti getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Romeo Stănciulaş hit a great ball. During the 95th minute of the match Aurelian Eremia completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aurelian Eremia a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 96th match minute, Momolesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelian Eremia to maneuver through the defense. Nicodim Erbașu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niculae Floruțiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Rusetul's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
