Viorel Gugulanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionuț Plop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laurențiu Bobeica kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Ivan Marina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Calota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Bornescu took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcel Calota. Marcel Calota dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Marcel Calota came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Olimpia Buzau's Manuel Bornescu. But to his dismay, Manuel Bornescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After a rather tough play, Straoane's Laurențiu Bobeica got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Marcel Calota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ion Paulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Laurențiu Bobeica kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 38th match minute, Olimpia Buzau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Bornescu to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ionuț Plop was the one to do the kick off. Straoane's Marcel Calota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corneliu Gușatu in the 54th minute of play. Olimpia Buzau's Manuel Bornescu got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th match minute, Olimpia Buzau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Bornescu to maneuver through the defense. Ivan Marina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Gușatu in the 72nd minute of play forced Straoane's goalkeeper Marcel Calota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcel Calota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corneliu Gușatu in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Gușatu in the 96th minute of play forced Straoane's goalkeeper Marcel Calota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olimpia Buzau walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
