Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Narcis Zăvoiu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 7th match minute, Gherghita FCM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandu Moisescu to maneuver through the defense. Tudor Davidescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gică Baran's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Gherghita FCM's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Ilinca came free, but Tudor Davidescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gică Baran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. LPS Buzău F's Cristi Sălcudeanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save LPS Buzău F from getting a goal against them. If Călin Zăreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gică Baran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tudor Davidescu having to interfere. Tudor Davidescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gică Baran, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Marin Ilinca hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Gherghita FCM's Costel Tincu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 32nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Cristi Sălcudeanu but with some difficulty. Cristi Sălcudeanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narcis Zăvoiu in the 33rd minute of play. Gică Baran succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Marin Ilinca hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Gică Baran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Tudor Davidescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gică Baran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gică Baran was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Claudiu Stoleru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LPS Buzău F's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gherghita FCM the free kick. The supporters of Gherghita FCM booed when LPS Buzău F was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudiu Stoleru didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute of the match Costel Tincu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristi Sălcudeanu skillfully saved the ball. In the 55th minute, Costel Tincu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Tudor Davidescu managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when LPS Buzău F's Gică Baran fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Gică Baran managed to get in a good position for a shot. LPS Buzău F's supporters rose to their feet, but Gică Baran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tudor Davidescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 74 minutes, Gică Baran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LPS Buzău F's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gică Baran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. LPS Buzău F's Claudiu Stoleru got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th play minute Gică Baran came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tudor Davidescu. 0-2. In the 89th match minute, LPS Buzău F was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Olariu to maneuver through the defense. LPS Buzău F's Cristi Sălcudeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Călin Zăreanu in the 93rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Gică Baran managed to get in a good position for a shot. LPS Buzău F's supporters rose to their feet, but Gică Baran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tudor Davidescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. LPS Buzău F played a much better game than Gherghita FCM and deserved their victory. The Gherghita FCM players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
